What I Did from Week 43 to Week 48?
This article is very much like a diary, but if I don't post it, I won't have a chance to continue the beginning of a new journey!
I took a one-year anniversary vacation to Yunnan, going and returning in a hurry.

I also took a hard sleeper train at midnight to climb Mount Tai, but ended up resting at the Red Gate.

After going to Yunnan, I used the DJI Action 5 Pro to record videos of my trip to Yunnan, and editing the videos took another week.

I went to Jinhai Lake over the weekend and climbed Mang Mountain. The video of Mount Tai hasn't been edited yet. In summary, I've been busy and have no time; work has also been busy. Although it sounds like an excuse, if I really wanted to make time, I could. So recently, I've started to update my public account again, and videos will also start to be updated. Weekly reviews (diary entries) will also be updated.

To be honest, if I don't update, I will really forget what I've done! Only by reviewing regularly can I have a deep impression, and it can be considered a way to leave a mark.

If there’s nothing to record, I will really forget what I’ve done! When writing, I can only go back and look through videos and photos.

So scary, I think my flight ticket was worth it. The construction of Daxing Airport is quite good, and the public infrastructure is very well done; the only downside is that it's too far!!!

I was so excited to check in my luggage for the first time, worried that my luggage might not meet the standards. Previously, I would just carry a backpack when traveling for work and had never checked in a suitcase.

PS: Be sure to prepare a small cover for your suitcase; otherwise, after checking it in once, it will turn from a new suitcase into just a suitcase. Don't doubt it.

On the plane, the lights were so bright that I couldn't tell if I had fallen asleep. Just as I woke up in the fog, the plane burst through the clouds, and the sky was clear. I transferred in Fen Yang, and the weather was a bit chilly, as if it was going to rain.

When in Kunming, absolutely do not take a taxi! It's too expensive!!! Use ride-hailing services, which have fixed prices! I used to have a very good impression of Kunming, often bringing back flower cakes when I was on business trips. Not only that, but when I returned, I realized I hadn’t tried the mushroom hot pot in Yunnan, so I went to have a mushroom hot pot. I had just finished eating at noon and went straight to the airport. I don't know if it was the pickled shrimp or the mushroom hot pot that upset my stomach. The mushroom hot pot wasn't as delicious as people said online!!!

Little Tips:

  1. If it's just a temporary stopover, choose a place close to the airport or high-speed train station to stay.

  2. When taking the high-speed train, book tickets in advance and choose a window seat. The last row has two seats and is close to the restroom.

  3. When taking a taxi, make sure to check your location before hailing one; otherwise, it can easily cause problems. If you're worried about the accuracy of your location, look for any obvious buildings nearby; if they match what you see on your phone, then your location is likely correct.

  4. Always bring an eye mask and earplugs when traveling.

Dali is mainly inhabited by Han, Bai, Yi, and Hui ethnic groups.

I didn't see the sunrise at Longkan Pier; I arrived too early, and no one was renting bikes, so I rode a little yellow bike for 10 kilometers. I originally planned to continue to Xizhou Ancient Town and then take a taxi from Xizhou to Shuanglang. But since it was too far, I went back to have breakfast and then went to climb Cangshan.

Driving in Dali, Yunnan is very fast, and motorcycles are also very fast; it feels like driving on the famous Autumn Ming Mountain. Many Bai courtyards have four-character phrases outside, such as "Purple Qi Comes from the East" and "Hanlin Heritage," because they pay great attention to culture.

Homestays are generally Bai people's houses rented to outsiders, and outsiders do renovations and such. Today I had stone slab barbecue; the owner was very nice and has been in business for twenty years; he is Bai.

Beware, some hotels don't mention their environment at all; all the reviews are positive, and the pictures are of scenic spots, but in fact, they are faked, so be careful ⚠️

For long-term recording, be sure to bring a card reader and a secondary card.

When traveling for a long time, bring a power bank and an external hard drive. After finishing the video, the upload speed is too frustrating!

When riding an electric bike, be very careful about safety because it can freeze in the afternoon near Yulong Snow Mountain during autumn and winter, which is very dangerous on the highway; summer is better! Be sure to pay attention to safety.

After returning from Shangri-La, I always feel that traveling is like a dream, hard to believe that the week I was still wandering in the mountains and the next week I was trapped in a concrete building.

Someone asked me if I went to Tiger Leaping Gorge. I said no, I'm preparing for the next visit! Shangri-La really has so many fun places! It's truly the Shangri-La of the world, a paradise for hikers.

Shangri-La is a place that can heal my entire life; every time I see places I've traveled before, I am filled with tears.

The biggest impression Dali left on me is the love for dogs; every dog seems very content!

Shangri-La is a place that haunts my dreams; to this day, I often think about those days in Shangri-La, just like dreaming.

Technology#

Don't fall into the consumer trap; buy everything as needed! For example, I feel that my K50 can continue to be used for a long time if it doesn't malfunction.

This morning, my nose hurt from the cold while riding; riding in winter is faster than in summer because it's too cold.

This morning was my first morning run back in Beijing from Yunnan, wearing a wool hat and thermal underwear and jacket, I ran 3.5 kilometers. Suddenly, an old man appeared while I was riding, and I almost bumped into him, but luckily my skills allowed me to dodge quickly.

A man's biggest mistake is not having money.

Oh no, I really want to go to the Everest Base Camp.

Work#

Recent lessons learned at work:

You must be brave enough to refuse others; no means no.

Always copy your leader on important matters to leave official evidence.

Recently, there has been a phenomenon where people often contact me after work; sometimes I can receive 6-7 calls after work, and sometimes I really want to ignore them. Leaders never see these calls; I even think they can just call me, and when they can't reach me, they directly call the leader to have the leader call me. This way, the leader might realize I'm working. Otherwise, the leader will never see that I'm working.

In the new year, if it's not the leader calling, I won't answer; let others contact the leader directly, otherwise, the leader won't realize my importance.

Work Like an NPC#

This is a work attitude I've recently come to think about! The inspiration came from watching "Listening to the Treasure," where various treasures are presented; the value of one treasure might be worth several lifetimes of my hard work, or even less than the value of one treasure. In the eyes of these wealthy people, I might not even be considered a cow or horse; I might just be a tool, an NPC.

Thus, I think work should be like this too. Maintain a relaxed state, just like an NPC; NPCs in games are always emotionally stable and not in a hurry. NPCs never have a student mentality; regardless of the speed of work, the NPC's responses are consistent. If you praise me, I thank you; if you criticize me, I acknowledge it, and that's it.

During work hours, I am an NPC; after work, I return to my true self, full of energy and undefined, striving to improve myself. I no longer consider salary discrepancies or workplace PUA; I do as much work as I am paid for and worry as much as I need to. Work is just a part of life, not all of life.

This NPC mentality is similar to the concept in "Life Segmentation"; at work, I only bring my work mindset, and after work, my job has nothing to do with me.
