The week before the W4 holiday

Life#

This week we had the annual meeting, which felt like a bunch of horses watching other horses, just like being played by monkeys. I don't even watch the Spring Festival Gala, let alone the annual meeting. During the meeting, I kept playing Honor of Kings, Hearthstone, and Clash Royale (not fun), and in the end, my phone ran out of battery. After the meeting, my colleagues invited me to dinner, saying it was the last meal before the Spring Festival, and since everyone was still around, we gathered to eat. I didn't get a proper rest this week, and some colleagues had to catch trains, so in the end, this pre-New Year gathering fell through.

Movies and Books#

📚 "Bottomless Card Game"

This novel has a bit of a weak ending (in my opinion); the first half is quite good, and the plot of scams in the novel is relatively close to reality. Although the ending is a kind of scam conclusion, it feels rushed, and compared to "Scam the World," it falls short by several levels.

🎬 "Stationed"

Super good! It tells the story of the stationed leader Chang Sheng integrating with the villagers. Today, the 31st episode was released, and it should be finished before the New Year. The story feels very real; some people are inherently kind, while others are simple-minded. I hope it doesn't have a bad ending. Some people really dislike the second female lead, feeling there's a huge contrast; initially, she blindly trusts the local guy, and later, she blindly sticks to Chang Sheng. I don't have much opinion on this; I'm watching the story. Indeed, this part is illogical; how could the local guy not know after so many years? Everything serves the plot, and I just brainwash myself about the illogical parts.

🎬 "Bleach"

The main character is Guo Jingfei, and I think it's not as good as "Stationed." The first eight episodes of "Bleach" can be considered legendary, especially the scene where Zhao Jinmai walks in the air; just a reminder, that is breathable. The whole thing is tense; maybe it's because I'm afraid of heights? However, after episode eight, the plot became less exciting; perhaps the cases themselves are filled with comedic elements, but the process of uncovering the truth is tedious and long. However, I also listened to the explanation of the real-life case that inspired "Bleach." It was truly a coincidence that this major case was solved.

🎬 "Good Stuff"

It's hard to evaluate; I'm not the target audience. I don't know what the plot of this drama is; it can be categorized as an art film, giving me a feeling similar to "Walk and Stop" and "Not in Vain." Anyway, I can't figure out the plot of "Good Stuff"; it seems to be just a fragment of life plus various punchlines. However, the punchlines are quite innovative, which is indeed much better than many poorly made comedies. My favorite segment is when the child hears sounds, with various scenarios paired with various sounds. The child thinks it's natural weather, but it turns out to be her mother's bitter daily life. I think this part is the best shot, combining sound, imagery, and thought, very shocking.

Games#

I tried Hearthstone, and it felt pretty good, but there are so many cards. I played Starship Shaman and 🐛 DK, and the path was completely erased. In the end, Reynor defeated the Queen of Blades Kerrigan, and humanity achieved victory✌️
