Reason#
The reason was that I planned to climb a snow mountain (travel), which led to my endless shopping for the equipment needed for the climb. While shopping, I didn't feel like I spent much money, until I looked at my accounts and realized I had spent so much. It was really terrifying to see! Unknowingly, I had spent 10,000 in just a month. I decided to make a change; I couldn't continue like this. (Thanks to my accounting software Yimu Accounting
, although it occasionally fails to pop up automatically, which might be a problem with my phone, it works fine after a restart.)
Points Diary Construction#
By chance, I read the article After Writing a Points Diary for a Year, My Energy Bar Doubled!, which inspired me greatly. Although I didn't know if the points diary could motivate me and make my time more abundant, I knew that exercise could make time feel slower, so I decided to give it a try, just like starting a new game.
Notion#
The first thing that came to mind was to use Notion
to create a game life system, designing a way to earn coins through formulas and other functions. Coins would be linked to money, and through a reasonable exchange mechanism, I could redeem items in a store, with formulas automatically calculating the remaining coins in my wallet. The ideal was beautiful, but reality was harsh. Considering the network issues with Notion
(it wasn't that I couldn't create the formulas), I eventually gave up on Notion.
Kingsoft Document#
If the network is an important reference factor, I shifted my focus to the domestic software Kingsoft Document
. As a domestic online document, Kingsoft Document performs reasonably well, supports Excel formulas, and allows me to practice my Excel formula skills.
The Points System was designed, but I often forgot to record. I set a rule for myself that if I forgot, I wouldn't record, in order to establish a good habit of recording diligently.
Since I had just set up this points diary and then went out to play, I didn't record anything at all. Therefore, the recording rule I set for myself was not suitable.
Ren Sheng APP 🌟#
After the annual leave, I calmly analyzed and ultimately chose the Ren Sheng APP
. This app records single and multiple tasks from different dimensions. I actually think it’s not much different from TickTick. Although Ren Sheng's three platforms are not as smooth as TickTick, the free features of Ren Sheng
are much more abundant. What I mainly focused on is that the Life APP allows you to set coins when completing tasks, and you can exchange coins for some items set in the store.
Unlike TickTick, I use the points diary more for checking off repetitive tasks; TickTick is my work reminder tool.
Compared to Kingsoft Document and Notion, the Ren Sheng APP allows you to place tasks directly on the desktop, and you can complete tasks by clicking on the circle before the event!
You can set a reasonable exchange system between coins and RMB. I set mine at 1:1.
You can see that I currently have 44 coins, and I believe that one day I will save enough coins to buy the items I like.
Actually, I knew about the Ren Sheng APP a long time ago, and what attracted me the most was this six-dimensional attribute. It really feels like P5 (Persona 5).
Uptimer#
In fact, I also thought about the Uptimer
I previously recommended for the points system, but Uptimer and TickTick are too repetitive. My subconscious always thinks of Uptimer as a time tracking tool 📝 rather than a habit tracking tool, so I also gave up on it.
Universal Disclaimer#
Everyone has their own suitable software and methodologies. What I share may not be the best, and I hope everyone actively shares their points diary systems so we can learn from each other and improve together!
